crunchy cheese biscuits

recipe inspiration from

i am going to the mountains this weekend and i saw this recipe on my favourite past time blog and thought it would be a perfect snack to have, so i used that recipe is a tiny little twist.


1/2 cup butter (room temperature)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 tsp of ground red pepper

1 cup and 3 tbsp flour

1 cup crushed corn flakes

1 egg

1/4 cup half and half

pinch of salt and pepper

preheat oven to 370 degrees.  in a bowl, mix together butter, cheese, red pepper, salt and pepper until smooth.  fold in flour, corn flakes, and egg to the mixture.  break in egg in a bowl and give it a stir before pouring it in mixture.  once everything is mixed, i used my hand to form a dough.  roll dough into balls and place on greased pan.  put 12 balls on a pan at a time (the recipe yields 24).  once on tray, take a fork and push down on the balls to create a pattern on top.  lightly brush the top of each ball with half and half and a little more salt and pepper if desired.  bake for 15 minutes.  let cool before eating.
